It won't be too long (I hope) that my new game room will be ready for speakers. I will only be running 1 pair of speakers and I have the room for floor standers. With the recent addition of a subwoofer to my main a/v room I wonder why it took me so long to invest in one. With that said I'm wondering what speakers I may wish to considor for the game room that will have good low extension and under $2000/pair? I know I proabably won't get the deep lfe of a subwoofer but I am curious about experiences with the floor standers that have small subs built in like the Vandersteens. If you actually own or have heard speakers that would "fit the bill" let me know! the room is apprx. 18X26 with 9' ceilings. This will be a music only room, room treatments will consist of a 9' pool table, wall mounted plasma tv and a wet bar:D

You should consider definitive technology powered tower speakers. I use mine for music alot and think they sound very good. The bipolar design has a way of filling the room with sound. Some people will say bipolars dont do music well but after owning theese for 6+ years and having heard many different speakers in my life (I'm 46) I disagree. If you get a chance to audition them, make sure they a properly set up. http://www.definitivetech.com/reviews/BP7004ASrev.pdf
