Gallo Reference 3 Stereo

The Gallos finally came in and they sound incredible.
Right now I'm just running stereo, with the Onkyo reciever powering some Aura Pro Bass Shakers in the couch. The Gallos go low enough that with the shakers, I don't really miss having a sub.
I am in dire need of a record player upgrade :D .
I haven't had the speakers long enough to really find the perfect spot in the room for them so that can always change. Eventually I'd like to grab the reference AV center and a pair of A'Diva Tis for surrounds. Or something like that.

Nice looking speakers, they look like B&O.

Also, what is that console in the bottom left hand? it looks like a neo-geo :D

I love Neo Geo, but I sold mine a few months ago. Haha
It's a Hitachi Hi-Saturn, only difference from a regular saturn is that it plays VCDs.

Thanks
I love them.
Since I'm only using two right now, all I had to do was get a Y splitter and I went from the subwoofer out to a pair of stereo inputs on my other reciever. Reciever is set to Stereo and I have the shakers hooked up to the left and right speaker terminals.
You don't wanna have them shake too much, but when they're balanced it works great, and the neighbors don't complain.

Very nice! I'm glad to see that somebody else still has a Dreamcast. ;-) What's that right-most white component on the middle shelf?

Oh, duh, lol! Now I feel dumb. I'm just so used to seeing them vertically mounted...

Gotta love those speakers.

Why dod you choose them and where did you audition them?

I live near Houston and I have never found a rep, even in this large city.

Congratulations!

Those are really neat speakers, I enjoyed them when I heard them.

How do you find them to be with vertical break-up? The only thing I noticed was they really seemed to drop off more than I expected if I stood much above being on-axis with them.

My Brother in Acoustical Arms! Glad to see that somebody else is experiencing the joy of the Gallo's. I can attest to the Ref. AV center and the A'Diva Ti's for surrounds, that's the exact same set up I'm running, except I'm using the Reference SA with my fronts instead of shakers. Living in a small apartment, I don't think the neighbors are going to let me have anything else, but I haven't missed any bass since I hooked them up.

I notice that behind your Ref 3.1s you're hanging a pair of acoustic panels. I want to do something similiar, it looks like your using GIKs 244s there, how do you like them? Can you tell a difference? Also are you using any other kind of treatments in your room? Lots of questions for a fellow Gallo enthuseist, I haven't seen many of us around the boards but glad you're here! Enjoy the new set up...

Really? That's weird. These are some of the only speakers I've heard that really DON'T drop off when moving around the room. If I stand up, the tonality changes a little bit, but I don't lose any high end. I find them to be great about staying relatively balanced no matter where I am in the room.

In other news I did order the A'Diva Tis and a Reference Center... Almost a month ago. Purchased them from a dealer on ebay and he has not even shipped them yet. Awful service, really. (PM me if you're buying any Gallo gear online, I'll let you know who it is)
