Hey everyone...

I didn't see a section to officially introduce myself, so i figured i would post up here, and then of course post a this. vs... that thread, which i'm sure you guys get tired of.

I am slowly, but surely, upgrading my audio equipment. I recently purchased a new lcd TV, which I love... and right now i'm using an older Onkyo receiver (by older i mean pre-component era) .

I started out looking at Klipsch speakers after listening to them at a local best buy ( i generally don't like circuit city / best buy-ish places for home audio, but it was near my work and i had nothing better to do).

Since that time I also heard good things about the Anthony Gallo satellites...

Well my indecisiveness paired with my addiction to eBay has led to me to where I am now...

I have two partial 5.1 systems... and i'm not sure which one i want to complete.

whichever system i use, i already have a subwoofer i plan on keeping. It's a 15 inch velodyne i picked up on clearance at Stereo Advantage a few years back (a little over kill I've found, with my current setup)...

I was working on the Klipsch Cinema 10 setup... I have the center channel, and I've been impressed with it...

then i ended up purchasing 3 Anthony Gallo satellites, the micro's, not the a'diva's. I set them up as my two front speakers and center channel... and I was impress with that as well...

So... i want to finish up my 5.1 setup, after which i will move onto a nice newer receiver with HDMI switching and all that good stuff.

Are these systems comparable? like are they close or is one on a whole different level?

any recommendations are welcome... i can most likely have either setup for the same price... and i was also considering getting an A'Diva larger satellite for the center channel if i stick with the Gallo's ...

ok blast away... :D

Welcome!

The general rule of thumb is to be sure your front 3 speakers are the same brand. The surrounds are less important so you can mix-and-match those. You could pick up Klipsch for the left and right mains and move the Gallo's to surround duty. Remember that although Gallo's and Orbs are excellent speakers, they won't offer the complete sound a good bookshelf will.

yea... well the klispch cinema 10 setup the front two speakers would still be satellites... the rsx-5 . i guess at that point I could use a pair of the rsx-5's up front with the klipsch center channel and then use the 3 gallo's as the surrounds / rears for a 6.1 setup?

i'm just wondering if side by the side the klipsch rsx-5's would out perform the gallo's, or vice-versa. guess i'll have to pick up a pair and see.

Thanks for the response!

That's the spirit! Both Gallo's and Klipsch are fine speakers. Listen for yourself and decide. Trust your ears.
