DeOxit is good and can be found online or locally. Parts Express sells it for about $13.

Technically, your gain is fixed, by design. The volume control is adjusting the input level. It's possible that your controls are passive, which means that if the power is off, you can still operate the preamp section.

Like I said the poweramp works. I turn down the center when I listen to 7.2 Stereo on the (I thought they where gain knobs) since I have the center biamped and 350WX2 might blow the tweeters, so I turn down the poweramp for that application, rather then the processor, but I did notice that noise, like they might have some sort of oxitation on them. I'll try the spray first, since that seems the cheapest way to fix the problem.
Thanks

Sprayed Gain Knobs with DeOxit, better than new.

Deoxit is great stuff, But Caig also makes something specifically for conductive plastic potentiometers, of which most types are, I Believe its called Cailube CL, and is probably a better choice for this particular application, Then again if you get the deoxit theres a ton more uses for it as well ;)

Controls that haven't moved in a long time will generally have deposits everywhere except where the wiper makes contact and once it moves, some of this goes along for the ride.

what other uses do you have?
Deoxit is great for cleaning all electrical connections, rca jacks and plugs, battery contacts etc... Usually about twice a year I go through and clean every jack and plug in my entire system with deoxit and finishing off with progold using a couple toothbrushes and some brushes made specifically for going into the center conductor hole on rca jacks.

Keeps everything cleaned, looking and performing as good or better than new.
