Ok I have been using the component inputs on my TV from the cable box with no issues. I have the screen set to Wide Zoom by default so that all the 4:3 channels are stretched accross the screen and the HD wide screen channels have always been "smart" enough to display correctly without streaching unnessasarily.
I picked up an HDMI from bestdealcables and hooked it up. Problem is that all the 4:3 channels which of course is most all of them are defaulting to normal so I have black bars. I change the screen to wide both using the quick button on the remote or thru the main menu and it works still I go to a HD wide screen channel which then switches it back to "normal" and when I then go to a regualr channel it then stays at normal and not back to wide screen to the black bars are back. the screen menu still has 4:3 default set to wide zoom but does not seem to have any effect...
Ideas on what I am doing wrong? hopefully that all made sense
