Bring on the nay sayers...

Did you know that our money is NOT printed by our government? Private bankers print our money for our government and it is on a loan basis and our tax money pays the interest on the loan.

Did you know that the Federal Reserve is actually a private company? yes, native and foriegn owners of the federal reserve print all those bills in your wallet. Nope, they are not from our government - they are printed by in effect a contracted company.

Did you know that Pres Kennedy was about to shut down the federal reserve before he was assinated?

I know i am about to catch hell for posting this but all i ask is watch it and listen to the credited people that actually work for the government tell you that what is happening is illegal on film, including a senator but says he is helpless to stop it.

Watch this movie for entertainment or to learn a few things. I cant say I agree with all of it BUT if only 10% of it is accurate then it is still pretty unsettling.

That's nothing new, they taught us this back in high school. Class of 80. Its less expensive on tax payers, also more efficient. (The Fed)

I love the fact that it costs nearly 2 cents to make a penny nowadays. We need to make a few tweaks to our monetary system in my opinion.

Mais Oui:

Well, it true and there are more scary things out there but
what can you do? Bush has two more years for two more wars,
he will sell US short term bonds to China, Korea and Japan to finance it given he has run up the biggest deficit in world history.
All U can do is get your own thing/ family together and go back to church and pray for God to forgive us.

Yea, you are right about this. I guess, for me, its just good to talk about these things in effort to come to some sort of understanding as to why they happen, put them into the past and move on.

Thanks for the link. A real eye opener.

But what can an average everyday ordinary guy do? He's too busy going to work, make money so his family will have a roof over their head and wont starve, and at the end of the day he comes home dead tired to do anything else besides eating dinner and watching TV. And on weekends, enjoy some family time with the wife and kids. This has always been the American dream.

Seriously, it takes one form of power to challenge another form of power. I just don't see the average guy has any power to change the system.

What can you and I do you ask?

Well you can start by reducing your credit. If you look at pretty much all other countries they dont use credit like we do to enslave ourselves into having today what can not afford.

I have spent some time in europe and eastern europe and credit is viewed like this - if you have to use a credit card that means you cant afford it and have to borrow the money which is frowned upon.

If you think about it we have really been brain washed about our credit system. They THROW money at us, jack up the interest add penalties whenever possible and we somehow today think this is normal. Well it isnt. Its only that way in the USA. And we need to stop it. Not as in stop credit - just stop using the plastic so much.

When you finally cut all those cards you will really have a rude awakening as to how much we are in trouble - as in inflation and how little the dollar is worth today.

I found it very interesting how the media resported this year for the first time how many people from Europe are flying into NY to do thier christmas shopping this year because how cheap everything was compared to the buying power of the european dollar. If you think about we used to brag about going to other countries to buy things "cheap" becasue the dollar converts into so much money.. well the tied is turning and now they are coming here... just think about it..

If i had a suggestion it would be cut all the cards but one with a high limit for emergencies, and only use credit for Autos and Houses... Thats just my two cents.

As a rule, I always pay my credit card bills in full and on time. I just don't see the point of paying those high interest rates and those penalty fees. Even so, I think I have spent more money than I should have had ever since I got myself a couple of credit cards, simply because it's so easy to spend money when you don't have to actually count out the bills.

And there are cards that credit you back a certain percentage of your spendings, varies from 1% to 5%, depending on what kind of card you have and where you spend it. I've got unavoidable bills I've got to pay each month, like the apartment's maintenance fees, phone bills, utilities, etc. It's nice to pay them via these credit cards, at least you get some money back. Plus, when you buy a new car or a house, 1% of those kinds of purchases is some serious money.
