R U done with Blu or did you upgrade this player with another , if so which player did U get ?
I really like this player, but I own this and the Oppo DV-980. I am looking to condense down to one player. So if I can sell both my Sony and Oppo plus a $100 I can get the Oppo 83. The other advantage is most receivers only have one set of multi-channel pre ins.

I have the Yammy 663 and I have been underwhelmed with its DAC and the fact it clips BTB and WTW with video switching. So now I am thinking of using HDMI directly to the TV and sending the analog pre-out to the yammy.

Sorry you asked? :)

REALLY?! Hmmm.. I do not believe this to be true, but to be honest, I have never put an SACD or DVD-A disc in. If this is true, then the sale is off!
(Now to spend the rest of the day wondering until I can get home)

Can anyone else confirm/deny this?

DVD-A cannot be played on ANY Sony player, since it is/was a competing format to SACD. I am fairly certain this player did not support SACD either, however both formats typically have tracks on them that can be played on most DVD players. DVD-A discs often have DVD-V sections and that is all that will be recognized by a non-DVD-A capable player so you will NOT hear the hires DVD-A audio; it will be standard DD or DTS. For SACD, hybrid discs contain CD tracks that can be played on pretty much any CD or DVD player.
