Seriously, I have no life.
That unit seems to date from around 2002. It has no modern connectivity.

The firm is out of business or has a down website.

That unit is worth nowhere near what you are asking. I would value it between $50 and $100. But the top end might be stretching it. Old units like that with very limited connectivity have very little value now. That is especially true from a little known manufacturer.

You need to set your sights a lot lower on what to ask for this unit.

Why would I spend $500 for that when you can buy a Pioneer VSX-1021-K 7.1 for $50 more with all the latest connections?

Buying something simply because it has the latest connections defies the fact that old NEVE BCM recording consoles from '69 sell for $30,000. Hardly "the latest" connections. For those of you who know what you're doing - you will look at the schematic for the Pioneer VSX-1021-K 7.1 and schematic for the HT-4000 and take notes as to how they differ. Variety is the spice of life.

On the other hand, I have clearly stated MAKE OFFER - never stating that 500 is a fixed price. I'm only starting at $500 because the welcher bidder who never paid on it seemed to think it was worth 500, and the bidder before him thought it was worth $450. So I will reiterate: MAKE OFFER. If you don't want this piece, I have no clue why you would waste your time posting here or making corrections other than the fact that you're bored.

In all honesty, when I see a listed piece of which the merchant is not 100% sure about, I would try to keep them ignorant so I could get the upper hand. Why would I educate them so they could be a step ahead of me? I'm here now, telling you I'm a stupid merchant and I don't know anything. My stepfather is in the audio business, has a whole show room full of amps that I can sell so here you are - I'm doing you a favor by making this rare minty gem available to you. Take it or leave it. Just because you don't want it doesn't mean I need to hear that. I will gladly sit on this amp for another 30 years until it becomes an obscure gem.

The marsh sound design page was up a few days ago..could just be down for temp.

It's actually this page, sorry it's philip.

I don't think you can compare your unit to a Neve console. It can often makes sense to put a piece of vintage equipment into service. If you click on my signature, you will see a lot of fine vintage equipment in service. The Garrard 301s for instance are very valuable.

However you need wisdom to know when using a piece of vintage equipment makes sense and when it does not.

Using an obsolete pre/pro makes no sense at all.

This is new technology that has been maturing and now approaching maturity. Your unit comes from the infantile period.

Not only will the unit not be handy and have trouble interfacing with modern equipment, but you will have DRM issues as well.

Sorry but we look out for each other. I don't care what a lunatic might bid for it, but you could make a good case for that unit being a recycling job.
