FS/FT: Emotiva LMC-1

Well I jumped on a deal for the Onkyo TX-SR705 and I'm going to replace the LMC-1 in my theater. Funny how I went from Onkyo receiver to LMC-1 and now back to (HDMI-enabled) Onkyo receiver. :)

I bought this back in March from an av123forum member, it has served me well since then although I don't use all of the LMC-1 capabilities. He had owned it for 3.5 months, and I've had it for another 6 months so it's about 10 months old I would say. It should have the latest updates from Emotiva since it's < 1 year old and they had figured out the bugs by then. Well, the major bugs, there are still a few little quirks. The test tone for the sub channel doesn't work right in any of the LMC-1s, you must use a calibration disc or THX optimizer. If you own "Star Wars" on DVD (who doesn't?) then you are good to go. Or most of the Disney DVDs have THX also.

The analog RCA input for the "CD player" device doesn't seem to work, unless I've got some setting wrong. If anyone decides to buy this I will go through and check all the inputs and make sure that all the other ones are ok. My primary use was of the 7.1 analog input and that one works great :D although I also used the optical and digital coax too.

This will include the LMC-1, remote, manual, power cord, trigger cable, and HDMI external switcher. I will ship in the original double-box packaging. Fedex Home/Ground please. Source zip code 32904.

If anyone has some audio-related gear they would like to trade instead, let me know. Except cables, got enough of those
I was thinking about keeping the LMC-1 as a stereo preamp for my Strata Minis but it seems overkill for that.

"jvgillow" on eBay also. Paypal preferred. $300.

It's right up by my post count. Location West Melbourne, FL.

Shipping is included in the $300 price, I guess I didn't clarify that before. Unless you live in Alaska/Hawaii.

I have this prepro too and my subwoofer tone always worked fine. Hope you sell it before the UMC-1 comes out. The market will be flooded with LMC-1's. I'll be keeping mine, its paid for, and I love it.

Good Luck.

The tone works, but the frequency of the tone is too high for your typical subwoofer range. If you set the volume using the LMC-1 tone, then compare with a Dolby test tone, you will find that the sub level is set too high.

Interesting, I thought they sold all the LMC-1s a while back. Must have been some customers that returned them.

I'll just have to wait until they sell out again :D
