With grille on, it looks 100% perfect. With grille off, there are a few blemishes on the black gloss faceplate. When I got my new crazy sub about a year and a half ago, just shortly after this center speaker purchase, I was cranking The Two Towers, and the center fell from a couple of feet on the floor. It freaked me out, and never happened again, having placed it much more securely. When it fell the grille's feet did the damage.
I always used the same grille, but have just bought a brand new one to sell. I want any buyer to be happy. I also successfully lost my box, and ordered a new one. $41 total. I even inquired on a new faceplate, but it was a bit exorbitant.
FWIW, I've been tracking classifieds on this model to get an idea of asking price. These are not very often for sale. As of this moment, the older superceded grey Fresco is selling for $595 at both Audiogon and Ebay. This one is the
newer version, and Im asking for
less. I have not seen the Fresco-i for sale in the last month. I believe retail is around $1,000, and authorized dealers cannot reduce price by more than 5%, AFAIK. Ok, BB is selling for $999.98.
Included are both original grille, and brand new wrapped grille. (If I can fit them both in, which I should be able to). Otherwise you just get the new one.
Thanks for looking. As you can see, the blemishes might not be detectable at any significant distance. You can make out the lower left blemish from a few feet away. Once you are significantly further away, its probably not detectable.
