For sale is a 3805 receiver (black) in excellent condition. It was replaced with a Yamaha with HDMI so now this one is for sale. Comes with the receiver, power cord, setup mic, owner's manual, and really cool electroluminescent remote control. I no longer have the box, but it will be shipped in the Yamaha's box.

Features 120 watts per channel, Burr-Brown DAC's, two assignable 12-volt triggers, etc. This monster weighs 38 pounds and sounds absolutely awesome.

Price: A fair and reasonable $450 plus 3% Paypal if used and actual shipping from 94116. PM me with you e-mail for pictures.

See this link for Sound and Vision's lab tests, where it clipped with 5-channels driven simultaneously at 107 watts! More important is the incredibly low noise levels to boot.

Both the 2805 and 3805 are excellent units. Yes, it's true that the 3805 does not have A-B front speakers. What the 3805 has instead are A-B side surrounds so you could use dipoles/bipoles when watching movies and monopoles for multi-channel music.

And as a clarification, what the 3805 has over a 2805 is:

20 more watts per channel
8 pounds heavier
HDCD decoding
fully illuminated electroluminescent remote with motion sensor
Burr-Brown DAC's
Denon Link (for lossless SACD/DVD-Audio)
flip panel front (fewer exposed buttons)

And yes, you can easily get the serial codes, etc. from the Denon website which I have already provided a link to.

Are these features worth the price difference over a 2805? I'll let prospective buyers, each with their specific budget, to decide. But you will not be disappointed with either unit.

Another bene of the 2805

it has the Denon's mic for the auto setup feature. With the 3805 you had to purchase it yourself.
Signed,
Proud 2805 owner.

Note that the optional (on the 3805) setup microphone is included. Here's some photos. Absolutely flawless.
