FS: Axiom QS8 Surrounds

With some hesitation as I really enjoy these, I'm putting up for sale a pair of Axiom QS8 surrounds. While I would likely prefer to keep them as they are the best surrounds I have heard to date (in home or demo-wise), I have a different pair of surrounds that are timbre matched with the rest of my speaker package, so off they go...

I'm the second owner of these and as such, I do not have the original packaging nor the T mounting brackets. Nevertheless, I was able to use some 20 lb. braided wire on each to support these on wall strong mount hooks (wire is on in the pictures below).

They are in very good condition, have been well powered, rarely driven hard and have been used in a smoke-free, child-free environment. These will be well packaged and insured to whomever is the lucky one to snatch these up. For more info on these speakers, please visit Axiom Audio's website here.

The pricing on these new are $540 and are well worth that price, my asking price on these are $420 which includes shipping to the lower 48 states.

Yea I have wanted a set of these for a while. Where do you have them mounted? Against the back wall or directly left and right of you? I thought about buying these and making table stands for them.

I had them mounted slightly behind our home theater seating (about 3 ft.), about 5 ft. up off the floor, 3 ft. from the drop ceiling . Great soundstage with these guys. I've replaced them w/a pair of Boston Acoustics VRX surrounds which do quite well also, but I don't think they perform as well as the QS8s.

Axiom now makes a ceiling full metal bracket to allow for ceiling mounting if you don't have a side/rear wall or don't want to pay for their floor stands, which are pretty expensive IMO... -TD

Oh I was going to set them on the coffee tables. I was thinking of an L style backet with a large base. I would only need the bracket to raise them 6 inches or so off the table.

The only downside to that style of mounting would be that due to the table top being so close to the driver on the bottom, the image would have quite a reflection point.

Likely not as impactful as your mains or front soundstage, but it would alter the signal a bit.

It'd also have to be a pretty strong bracket, these are heavy little suckers weighing in over 14 lbs a piece... -TD

Are these the v2?

I believe these are the first version, but according to Axiom, the only changes where cosmetic and they were minimal. There should be no difference in performance between the first version and V2 models... -TD

I can confirm the V1 vs. V2 for the QS8's. I had the same questions when I bought my V1's. Except for some (non-performance) cosmetic changes, they are the same.
