Two Options

Kmad,

I have PSB Images, but do not have any Energy speakers so I can neither confirm nor deny how well they integrate. What you probably read on this and other forums is advise to keep the front sound stage (L, C, R) as closely matched as possible--but that is not always possible in the real world.

That being said, I see two basic options:

1) Buy the PSBs and only replace the cc-50 with a compatible PSB if you find something in the sound objectionable--you probably will not. If needed, sell the cc-50 to offset some of the cost of a new center, should you determine you want to replace the cc-50.

2) Instead, buy matching Energy mains, like C-50s or CB-5s. Amazon has C-50s for about $90 a pair or the CB-5s for about $180--an inexpensive solution that will ensure the front sound stage is well matched.

Good Luck,

I'm with XEagleDriver on this one. I'd either go with 3 PSB or 3 Energies. I used an Energy C-C50 with a pair of Energy C100s as a music solution for my home office for about a year and they sound good together. I checked with Energy before buying and they considered them a good acoustic match.
