Front Speaker Choices

I am trying to determine the best speaker configuration for my home theater and am debating on the following front channel speakers:

I have selected/purchased the Center Channel already: Paradigm CC-190 and need to choose one of two options for my fronts, either:

1) Use the Paradigm 250's

2) Use B&M speakers the C W M 8i's. They are about 10 years old but were used as a Zone 2 speakers in custom home and never really put to the test. Back in the day, they retailed for over $750 although the amount of money does not equate to the quality in all cases.

I would love to get all of your thoughts on this as I am having these built in to a home entertainment center.

Match Paradigm with Paradigm

The center should match the fronts to maintain timbre (seamless front sound). Of the choices you mention above the paradim 250s would probably be best. But you could audtion both and hear which ones match betst. The CC-190 is from the monitor series and the matching fronts ( iI know you aren't buying new fronts) are: Atom monitor, mini monitor, titan monitor, monitor 7, monitor 9 and monito11 (list in increasing cost).

Depending on your budget or as a future idea you might consider replacing the fronts with something in the matching montior line. What i have found, maybe it is just my humble perception, is that speaker technology has significantly changed in the last 10 years. Addtionally even good or great speakers that are older, tend degrade in sound quality.

However, the Paradigm AMS-250s are paradigm they are high-end in-wall speakers from another series and might match preety close in sound timbre.

Good Luck!
