Front height vs side height?

I just bought a pair of SVS Prime Elevations and i wonder what the best placement would be in a 5.2.2 setup? My room is rectangular (6,7x3,8m) with a 2,4m cealing.

Front height vs (side heights?). Placement on the cealing is not an option.

Imo side height would be better. It will get them closer to top front position. The room isn’t terribly wide, but phantom imaging overhead might not be as sharp, but I think it’s a worthwhile trade considering that you won’t get much overhead sound from the front height position. If you were doing FH and RH then I might think differently. But I think a single height pair will perform better to the sides and just in front.

Ok! I will be buying another pair down the road to run 5.2.4 which i guess will be alot better then just 2 heights. I will try the side heights to begin with.

Maybe in the future i should run side heights behind me and in front of me? Or just side heights and front heights?

The best placement for SVS Prime Elevations in a 5.2.2 setup would depend on personal preference and the acoustics of your room. Both front height and side height placement can be effective, but front height is often preferred because it allows for more immersive and accurate overhead sound. If you have a rectangular room, it's best to experiment with speaker placement and find what works best for you.

Pretty sure FH position does not lend to more accurate overhead sound. It just can’t. That article was cute, but doesn’t even mention the Dolby Atmos guides and following the angles, which is what Atmos speaker placement is actually about.
Top front is usually recommended for DA in a 5/7.x.2 system.
