From Stereo to Mono + Subwoofer

I am very inexperienced in wiring audio and new to this form, and am seeking guidance or suggestions to a problem. I want to setup a mono system with an accompanying sub-woofer attached to stereo amplifier. Can I tap the two channels creating two separate mono outputs? One mono signal would feed the main speaker and the other mono signal would supply the sub-woofer. Please see the attached diagram for my thoughts. Thanks for your help.

For someone who does not understand wiring, you were able to draw a clear diagram!

I do not understand the objective with a using a full range driver in Mono, and then trying to give that Mono FULL range driver, a subwoofer.

If you are trying to build speakers on a budget, and are thinking Mono is the solution by adding a subwoofer; realize that you're better off just building two full range speakers in a Stereo set up. I wouldn't even worry about a subwoofer until you can really afford a good one. Cheap subs often make things sound worse!

Thank you for considering my post. I am sorry that I didn't give a description of the project as it now appears to be a confusing matter. I constructed a horn speaker system using a Victrola horn that presently is fed by a 100 watt (50w + 50w) stereo amp in mono mode driving a full range speaker. Since the sound emanates from a single horn, I don't have a need for the stereo capability of the amplifier. The sound from the unit is decent, but the audible sound is too much in the high range for my taste. I have tweaked it as much as I know how, but cannot get the sound I'm happy with. Since I have the second channel from the stereo amplifier, I was wondering if there was a way to combine both into two mono signals -- one to drive the horn for the mids and highs and the second to drive a sub woofer for for the lows. This brings us to my original question and the proposed diagram.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking here but as long as you have a mono source, there is no problem splitting it into two "channels" to feed two amplifiers. A simple "Y" splitter somewhat like this will do exactly what you want.

Now, if you're asking about combining two channels into one, it's not quite that simple. You shouldn't use something like above to combine two channels into one.
