Hi everyone,
Do you recommend switching from Marantz sr7000 to Denon 4520? I have Klipsch rf7 + rc64 + rb35.
Would the difference between the two amps be clearly perceptible?

The Denon is slightly more powerful, about 1.8dB more for the Denon; whether you'd hear a significant difference as a result, doubtful. Your speakers are fairly sensitive, too. You would change just for the amp section or are there other features you want?

Yes, marantz sr7000 has not HD audio so now i can only listen to old Dolby Digital or DTS. I don’t use bluray but only SKY/Netflix/Amazon prime video.

My dilemma, however, it is really necessary to change or not. Consider my sources how much are the HD encodings worth?
Also I would not want to miss anything with the music. My Marantz has a very warm, mellow sound and is perfect with RF7.

Really, specs indicate the Marantz should be rather neutral, just like the 4520 that is just more powerful and has more up to date features. For movies, DD/DTS HD are worth it I'm but ymmv..

If you're not using bluray to get 7ch and the lossless codecs (DTS HDMA and Dolby TrueHD), altho your streaming services may have the lossy Dolby Digital Plus, the change in audio might be more subtle than you think. I prefer to have the capabilities myself and do use bluray. Necessary isn't it so much as what you prefer/want. Using hdmi to connect your streaming/set top boxes and tv with is a good thing IMO but can you use that/do you need it? What are your future speaker and display setup thoughts? The 4520 won't work so well for 4k or Atmos features....

I don't know about "warmth" in avrs, don't think of them that way and of the four I have (two Denons, an Onkyo and a Sony) I don't think of any of them in such terms as I find them rather neutral (which is the way they should be IMO). I do like my Denon 4520, tho....is this a used, refurb or new unit you've found?

The Denon 4520 I found is a used unit (650 eur is the price). I don't think I will change tv or speakers in the next few years.
