From Bop to Sweet- Charlie Parker, Vol 3 (Digital Remaster)

Have you ever noticed that sound quality on old jazz recordings can be less than stellar? This new Charlie Parker digital remaster which I streamed from Tidal today is amazing. The tracks, musicianship, and most of all sound quality of this new issue is just outstanding. It feels like the sax just jumps out of the speakers and slaps you in the face it is so clear.

That's good to hear. I may have to look into some of these new remastered disks.

That some of the old jazz recording are less than stellar is an understatement. My Parker disks, along with others like Art Tatum, King Oliver, Fletcher Henderson, Django Reinhart, etc just don't don't sound great at all. It's the greatness of how talented these folks are along with the musician in me which keeps me coming back listen again. Unfortunately, even some of the remastered disks aren't that great.
