Frequency Range of an Electric Guitar

Can anyone tell me the useful frequency range of an electric guitar is as I need a band pass filter for the amp I am building.

Unless you are playing drop-d tunings, 170hz to 10k is the range of a normal guitar. Is this for personal use of are you going to market it? I would also recommend checking out some guitar amp building sites as well.

No I am builing it for a friend whos amp is on the way out due to its age and I have looked at several guitar amp building sites, but no one seems to give a definite answer. I have found answers going up to 5000 khz.
