Should I buy it? Currently run an Insignia 6.1 600 Watt Reciever. The Onkyo is 6.1 watt 85w/channel. If I buy it for $50 would I be able to connect the 2 recievers and power one as an amp or something? Don't know much about that kind of stuff but I do know any onkyo for 50 bucks is a hell of a deal. Just don't know how much of an upgrade I will be getting. I currently use Polk R series speakers.

I think I am going to as well.

My current question is this:

With owning 2 recievers would I be able to use one as an amp? I have no idea how that stuff works. How would I connect the backup receiver I am using as an amp to the main receiver?

That won't work. Neither the 601 or that Insignia have pre-outs for external amplification.
Featurewise the Onkyo will not be a huge step up. Connectivity and power are a different story. the Onkyo will be much better.
