1st time post. Just finishing my basement and now moving into the Home theater purchase. Here are some specs. I've been out of the A/V game for a long time and alot has changed, so send me you thoughts

Room is 14 ft wide x 25 long x by 7 3/4 tall. If your facing the screen the right side wall is only a half wall that allows a person to walk through to my bar. ( I know that may pose an acoustical challenge). Its all prewired for 7.1.

Here is what I have in mind. BTW - I have demoed the speakers.

Klipsch - RF-82's
Klipsch - RC - 62 Center
K - RS - 62 Suround
K -RW -12D sub
and K- Rs -10's (I think thats the part# ...small surrounds to fill in the gaps)
I know there are not of Klipsch lovers hear from what I read but I love the sound.

Powered by Marantz Reciever. TBD

I figured that I would get the sound portion taken care of 1st and I could grow into a nicer TV later down the road. I know with the size of the room I needed something that would envelop the listerner in sound so I chose Klipsch. My little Yami HTIB just won't fill the void. As far as video, I am limited to the 73" Mits. After I drop the cash on audio, (and my wife will destroy me when she finds out...it will be hard to justify a large LCD or plasma purchhase.)

Give me some thoughts on what I've got going. Room size and the acoustical issue, speakers and receiver choice, and anything else you A-holics know. The local sales guy will tell me what I want to hear. Hopefully, you'll tell me what i NEED to hear.

Thanks in advance. Pics will follow

If you like how the Klipsh sounds that is all that matters really. Don't listen to the negatives about Klipsh you like them and thats what counts. I like your choices except the sub. You should check out www.svsound.com or www.hsuresearch.com as the Klipsh subs are nowhere near as good as either of those.

I couldn't agree more. Besides, Klipsch speakers are pretty damn good(IMHO). Hell, there is a reason(a good one at that)that they have been around as lond as they have.
One thing though. I would also have to agree with the subwoofer choice you made, not being the best(IMO). I know I have an Aperion Audio Subwoofer,(and I love it for now)but my next move up will be an SVS sub(looking at the PB 13 Ultra)
You may want to look into some of the newer AVRs out there. Yamaha, Denon, and Onkyo:)D), all have great offereings in the Home Theater Receiver range.
As far as your room's acoustics are concerned, that half wall will definitely pose sound issues. Maybe even an acoustic type of curtain of some sort, hanging from the ceiling to the flloor and directly up against that half wall. I am guessing that something like that would make a very noticeable difference in the sound(positive difference), though it may be an unsightly difference too though. That, along with bass traps and some accoustic treatments, should really make for some great improvements in your overall sound experience.
I am sure you will get plenty of imput here. There are many members here with much more knowledge than I have.
I wish you the best of luck on your new project. It's sure to be a whole lot of fun!!:)
