I’m not sure how to describe what I’m hearing but I want to say voices can sound almost too good. When HD TV first came out and people were complaining about the soap opera effect, that’s almost how I feel voices sometimes sound. I’ve already mentioned my setup in a different thread but I’ll repeat, NAD 705 receiver, Focal 706S bookshelf’s running in stereo off of XBOX One optical audio with a converter to RCA’s and almost exclusively movies from any number of streaming services. What I’m hearing is sometimes the movie scene sounds natural like it’s all happening together and other times I feel like I hear when the dialogue was recorded in a sound room and all the other sounds were dubbed in separately. Is this just the downside of quality sound reproduction and hearing when the studio skimped on their audio budget or am I just imagining this?
