Floorstandings with Velodyne FSR-15

Amp is a H/K 3480. Sub is a velodyne FSR-15. Need some floorstandings with a pretty high sensitivity rating (90 is minimum). Music use only. Can be used. Something that plays loud and will have good bass to play in harmony with a big sub...budget is less that 1000....what are your opinions thanks.

Don't even bother with towers.

The velodyne has the bass covered. All you need is an extremely accurate bookshelf speaker.

Go listen to Paradigm monitor7's & 11's (floorstanding) and then their studio20's (bookshelf). I like them.

You just have to get out and listen. Then look at the internet only brands that have a good return policy. What I like may not do it for you.

You might think that the athena f2.2's are perfect and they are only $400 a pair online. Alot of the members here like them. They are 93db and have two 8" woofers for good loud bass.


But who knows...

Agreed. The only thing that matters is what you think of the speakers.

There are many speakers that have a 90dB or higher sensitivity. The one that comes to mind off the top of my head is Klipsch. However, check out ecoustics.com. They have a ton of audio reviews and in those reviews the sensitivity for the speakers reviewed are given. Research prices and specs using those reviews to help narrow the search down. Then go out and audition your butt off.
