Hello! I am looking for a suggestion in upgrading my stereo speakers set up system, I am actually using
klipsch f-30 and I would like to know if there is difference in sound, upgrading to Klipsch Reference 82 II
or Klipsch Reference Premiere floorstanding. My source device are: Integra DTM 40.7 as Preamp, and
QSC GX3 power amp.

Thanks!

Those might be upgrades but they wouldn't be big upgrades, so I don't think it is worth it. If you wanted to stay in the Klipsch family, I would be looking at RF-7 II speakers at least.

Can you audition anything at home before committing?

I thought about upgrading due to fact that the Klipsch RF-82 II is on sale right now, and as far I undestand
is much better quality build, but about your suggestion the Klipsch RF-7 II I think will be too big for my room side, plus price range.

The Reference Premiere is said to have tamed the tweeter somewhat from being so bright. In the past, I have not cared too much for the Klipsch brightness per se. However, I got to listen to a set of the Premiere bookshelfs and was utterly impressed. To be honest here, I was a bit shocked and really liked what I heard.

If there is a way to get both and compare them directly that is always a great option. You can always send the set back that you are not as impressed with. Last time that I checked, Crutchfield offered free return shipping and 60-days to try said speakers out. Best wishes on your decision.

Cheers,

Phil
