Floor speakers - need advice

I'm brand new to the forum and somewhat new to learning about higher end audio. I need some help picking out floor standing speakers to be used for HT as well as general music. I dont want to spend over $1000 for the pair. I'm not really sure what information I can give that is helpful - currently I have an older Sony reciever but will be in the near future replacing that as well with a higher end unit. I was looking at Polk RTi 8s or 10s but that was because my only source of research was crutchfield.com .... any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only way to find a speaker is to listen for yourself. Try to find as many in your price range and go audition them. Here is a list of my favorite most of which I auditioned 3 months ago.

have a look at the Axiom m60v2, I have the M80's and they are an amazing true audiophile speaker for very little money. They do a 30 day money back in home audition, if you don't like them, send them back..shipping is very little.
