Flood, starting over

Thanks for all the help and advice guys. I was all ready to order my acoustic panels with we had a washing machine malfunction in the laundry area. The machine flooded the entire laundry area, then pumped about four inches of water into basement/theatre.

So I spent all of Sunday extracting water, and Monday pulling up the carpet and soaked pad.

Now I get to start from the ground up with the room. Well at least for the flooring & painting options. I'll post pics once I get started.

First thing I've bought were some water/flood alarms for the laundry and water heater areas.

There is a drain, but that section of the basement was converted in to a storage/ garage many years ago and a new drain was not put in its place. But then, all of that was hidden under the carpet, so you wouldn't have know that until the basement flooded. Until this time, I had always assumed the drain was still down there and worked.

So go the joys of owning an older home.

Thanks Glenn. This forum has been a wealth of advice already. Since I inherited the room "as was" when I bought the house, now I can carpet, paint, and layout the way I want.

Any good websites with gallery of "real" home theatres (Not $500K pro athlete theatres) I want to look at changing the color of the theater.
