I'm a H.S. teacher that got roped into help make the homecoming float this year. Without going into detail we will be 'sinking' a ship (the rival teams mascot) with our cannon(a pneumatic cannon shoting confetti). We could possibly hook up a sound system. What possible songs could we use? Suggestions? (No GFRR. no way. no how.)

How about the theme music from Pirates of the Caribbean?

What is GFRR? I'm betting it has something to do with Rap...

Gfrr

Grand Funk RR or more precisely Bland Junk RR is correct. As a child of the 60's I remember every garage band in the world playing 'Smoke on the water' and being better then the original at that. Thanks for the input. I saw Pirates but don't recall the music that well. Sink the Bismarck is great one.

Maybe the theme from Mission Impossible or Peter Gunn...

Hmmmm, I always liked Grand Funk.....though Deep Purple actually did 'Smoke on the Water.' As for "float music" how about the 1812 Overature?

Ok, I've just never seen Grand Funk Railroad abbreviated as GFRR. I can't think of any Grand Funk song that has a theme that would match 'sinking a ship' anyway.

Yes maybe 'smoke' was Deep Purple. Still sucks. I remember DP doing a few good things though. Bland Junk never did anything worth remembering. Maybe that's why lupped together a very bad band a really bad song.

Nevertheless, some great suggestions. I like 1812. Peter Gunn is good but I doubt the crowd would get the connection probably half wouldn't get 1812 without passing out program notes.

What's the overall theme for this float? Some hardcore might suite it well.
