Flat wire over concrete walls ...

Can anyone give me some feedback on this flat speaker wire I've seen online? Often going by the name of "tape wire" or "ghost wire".

I don't know much about wire; is 16, 14 or 12 AWG good enough for bookshelf and/or satellite speakers at the end of a 30 foot length?

I live in Hong Kong where all the apartment walls are solid concrete and rebar, so running wire through walls is impossible without a jackhammer and a lot of dust ... plus the landlord would probably evict me ... and wife would divorce me.

The wires would be run straight up the wall, then painted over. Connecting my presence, left, right and back surround speakers.

Any info would be great, the internet is strangely void of reviews for this type of wire.

For good reason; snake oil.

Just get yourself some generic 12 gauge and any plastic trim that is more sightly than the wire itself.

That "wire" looks to me like something I would like to stay far away!

I would use generic speaker wire and just add cord cover on it and do the runs by walls.

That type ribbon cable is common and ok to use.
However that one is expensive, the adhesive isn't that great and it's only 16 AWG.

Thanks for the info. Any sort of raceway or conduit is going to get voted down by the wife ... also makes a good target for curious toddlers! I'll have to get my hands on some of this ribbon cable and just play around with it.
