I've had flat 16 gauge speaker wire from Radio Shack run under carpets (before installation) several years ago, but it wasn't adhesive. It did the job quite well.

As for a source, I simply cut-and-pasted your four word subject line into google and was presented with a plethora of choices.

Parts Express sells it, too. It's probably not adhesive-backed but you can use carpet tape (very thin) cut in narrow strips to hold it in place.

That flat 16ga. RatShack speaker wire got some notice a few years ago as a bargain tweak in some "Audiophile" publication, but I forget which one. For what THAT'S worth

Seriously though, I understand that it's not bad stuff, especially for the price!
