Fix Old Snell E III or move on?

A friend gave me a pair of Snell III a few years ago. I like the sound but the woofers surround gave way recently.

I am going to try to repair them by re foaming but am dubious. The Snell dealer recommended getting new woofers at $ 186.00 each! This seems expensive compared to higher end woofers I see online?

Is this the first of parts failing so will I eventually have to buy crossovers and tweeters?

I see many new tower speakers that start at just a bit more than a new woofer:

Perhaps start new instead of repair?

Or as I was following a recent discussion CMT-340 se mini tower

Infinity Primus Three-way dual 6-1/2-Inch Floorstanding Speaker

IC America Venturi DV64 2-Way Tower Speaker

JBL ES90BK 4-Way, Dual 8-Inch Floorstanding Speaker
etc

I have a real mishmash system that I enjoy but am rebuilding:

First piece New

Marantz SR 7007

Old

Snell E III

JBL EC 25 center

JBL Northridge E250P 12-Inch

Polk 7 surround

Cheap Samsung Blu Ray

I like loud rock but listen to a large variety of music. I also enjoy HT as well but music sound is my first priority.

Your thoughts and thank you!

Should I begin a rebuild of my system with a repair of the Snell E III?

Odd answering some my own questions but this is for anyone else repairing Snell EIII's.
The repair was cake using the kit I got from Simply Speakers.
They now sound wonderful!
The speakers were $ 900 a pair in 1991 which is about $ 1600 today.
Given how nice they sound I would put in a new $ 186 woofer if need be but $ 12 repair is better!
For the time being I have great sounding front speakers and will hold me over until I piece together a new system.

Good choice and a smart move - continue to enjoy your system.

Good move on re-foaming the woofers. I recently read of someone in a similar situation with some older Snell speakers. He tried a bunch of newer speakers and ended up having the Snell's re-foamed as he was unable to find anything for less the 2k that sounded as good. Snell made some really good speakers and I was ALWAYS impressed with any of the speakers I heard.
