First Timer and need advice

Hello all, I am going to be purchasing my first home theater and could use some advise. I am leaning towards the Pioneer VSX1120 as it appears to have all the necessary inputs/outputs, is rated highly and is future ready as well.

The location will be our family room. I am not sure what speakers I should pair with the receiver.I want to have a 5.1 set up with the rear receivers being in the ceiling and the other two speakers/subwoofer being placed on or in my wall unit. I also want to have two speakers on my patio for the pool, which I believe this receiver can do as it is multizone. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I am looking for decent speakers but nothing over the top.

My budget is approximately $1,000.00 for the speakers. Many thanks in advance.

IMO, a pair of "decent" main speakers will cost 1k.

A "decent" center will be 400-500.

yes, my total budget is around $1,500.00. I expected to spend $500 on the receiver with $1,000 reserved for speakers.

One possibility is a PSB C60 for $200, pair of B25 for $319, pair of Monoprice in-ceiling for cheap, like maybe $50, which leaves you $400 for a subwoofer.

The PSB Image line above is already superceded for a newer generation, and hence the particularly good pricing on the C60.
