I have a 18x16x8 (2400 CU) sealed Home Theater Room. I have searched and read so many reviews on so many different subs my mind is spinning. I need to make a decision in the next few days and wanna make sure I make the right choice. I have a budget of around 700 dollars plus shipping. I have narrowed it down to One SVS PB 12NSD, Two HSU STF-2's or Two ED A2 300's. I will be using the Sub for HT only. Placement and size doesnt matter. Im looking for Sound Quality with a thud.

Any help would be appreciated and Im sorry if this has be gone over before!

I've never built a sub or speaker in my life, but if I did it all over again, and had the proper space/location for it, I'd rope in some help to build this thing. It wouldn't surprise me if it had as much output as all of the subs you just listed combined, yet with high SQ. It will come in under your budget as well, and that's including a nominal fee for the plans, and an amplifier to boot.

edit: oh btw, welcome to Audioholics. :)

edit #2: and when I mean all of them, I mean all 5!

If I had the time, tools and know how I would love to build something like that but I dont. So I will have to go with one that is already built and proven. But thanks for sharing. That thing is a beast!!

If you have $700 plus shipping have you looked at the eD A5 - 350 ? Shipping is included in the price. IMO it would a great sub in a room of your size.

Get 1 big sub. The ED A5-350 would work fine.

The subs specs are great but Ive heard many of problems with the ED's Amps and such. I would hate for mine to go out and have to deal with the process of getting it replaced. I dont have much patience :D

Thanks!

OH YAH!! I would so love to get my hands on that monster  However My budget is at it's highest. I made a mistake earlier in my post I said "700 plus shipping" I meant 700 total, shipping included.

Thanks!

Hmmm, I didn't see a lot of problems when I was researching them. Not to say there wasn't any but not enough to make me shy away. What problems were there?

From owners on a few different forum sites. Most problems were coming from the ED A2 300.

I've seen some that reported problems and I've also seen this with every other manufacture. No matter the maker there will be, without doubt, problems reported.

Under 700 plus shipping, the SVS PB12-NSD might be your best bet. If you bump that up by $30, you can get a Hsu VTF3 mk3. If you want to save some money, get the ED A3-300. I would do any of those instead of getting two lesser subs. Lesser subs won't get you that deep bass thee big ones can.
