So i dove in without doing much home work but this is what i got: Denon 3808ci, deftech 7002's, deftech clr2500, deftech bp2x, banana plugs for all speakers and receiver inputs. hdmi's from 56" samsung dlp 1080p/ps3/dtv hr20 and components from xbox 360 as it is an older one which is the 3rd one by the way due to the fabulous red rings of death! i dont have a conditioner. do i need one? i do have a monster power home theater power strip and a smaller sub 2 outlet strip with the $10k equipment protection guarantee on both. my room is 10'wX15'lX8'H. the front stage is against the 10' wall with the surrounds on the back wall which is 13' wide due to a hallway on the right side. the surrounds are mounted on the wall about 1' above ear level. should they be mounted higher? i also want to get 2 more speakers now since i have 7.1 available on the receiver. where should they be height wise? and should they be about halfway between the fronts and rears? sorry for all the ?'s guys! thanks for the suggestions ahead of time! oh ya should i be using the lfe's on the 7002's?

Just upgrade to 7002s and CLR3000 in my main HT (den). No , I don't think you need to put LFE inputs to your speakers. Do you have a sub? I didn't see one mentioned? Anyway without sub you can set you speakers as large and handel full range of frequencies which includes the low LFE frequencies. Even with a sub you can set a fairly low crossover or "both" and have you low frequencies signals as well go to 7002s as well as sub. I have an older Def Tech sub Prosub100 and will probably upgrade to an SVS PB13-Ultra some timei n the future; but for right now the system has enough sub effects for me!.

As far as surrounds, mine are def Tecjhs in the ceiling about 10 feet hight; I am not sure I would recommend the ceiling if you have the option to place them anywhere. But with level adjustments mone sound okay. However, if you can place them where you want, as I could in my other HT room (media room), I have found that they sound the best position is at ear level where you are normally listening. For example you are usually sitting when you listen to HT so ear level in a sititng position.

Good Luck!

thanks for the compliment midcow. i dont have a sub at this time. my room is on the small side and the 7002's provide plenty of bass for my application. i have the gains half up on the front stage built in amps and it shakes the downstairs of the house pretty good. sounds like i will leave my surrounds where there at. my 7002's are about 5 feet apart. should they be toed in? should i be running a power conditioner? thanks again for the response!

Just my thoughts: The 7002s are bipolar and part of your sound is coming off the back wall, I would not toe them in. A separation of 5 feet is not very much; if the space allows I would try increase separation distance. If you want to vary your sound there are a couple of things you can try. The side subwoofer can be either pointing inward or outward; you can swap the left and right 7002s to see differnece. Also, if you are limited to 5 ft appart how far from the back wall are your speakers. you can try varying the distance. a distance of 15-18 inches works very good.

I would run your power through a power conditioner. Monster is not a good brand!

Wow, that's what I call diving in to HT! Sounds like a great system.

As for power conditioning, I think you're all set. I have to use something to protect my stuff from voltage spikes, and my power equipment is no better than yours. I've measured spikes as high as 340V on a 110V line.
