First time Blu-Ray purchase help

I was about to buy my first Blu Ray player, when I became confused as to how you can recieve movies from Netflix, etc. via the internet. I understand the streaming concept, but not "how" this information is recieved by the Blu Ray player. I believe some players need an ethernet connection, while others can recieve via WiFi. My player would be located in the middle of the house, with no possible ethernet connection. I do have 2 home computers, 1 wired via ethernet, and the other wireless (recieving signal from an ATT modem). So.....if I bought a Blu Ray with Wi Fi capability, do I need another wireless device to plug into the Blu Ray, or do I need to somehow "program" the player to recieve signal from the ATT modem?

If you already have wireless network in your house, hopefully type N, and you buy wifi enabled BR player - then you don't need to buy any other pieces.
However Wifi speeds and connection quality may vary and sometime really suck depends on distance b'ween your "att modem" and br player. Walls, furniture - all tend to reduce the signal.
As alternative you could try Ethernet over power adapters. 85Mbps from Netgear should be sufficient for streaming Netflix.

I have a 2Wire and my PS3 is across the house. Only very rarely do I have connection issues and I get very good to excellent signal strength consistently and I stream netflix to the PS3 with no lag. It shouldn't be a problem.

One additional question. If I buy a player with built in WiFi and the signal is not strong, can I then use wireless adaptor? ATT sent me an extra Netopia adaptor that's just sitting in a box.

That will depend on the specific player since some are setup to be able to use an adapter and some can't.

I've decided not to overthink the possible issues. Just pre-ordered a VIZIO VBR200W Full HD Blu-ray on Amazon. There's only about 25 feet from my wireless modem to the TV. I think I'll be allright.
