I have absolutely no problem recommending the Polk monitor's in that price range as long as you pair them with a good quality sub. The 5.25" woofers and silk dome tweeters reproduce the midrange and high's excellently IMO but you need a decent sub to get good low end performance. Polk Monitor's + HSU would be a great performance/value combination IMO.

Thanks. Probably a difficult question to answer. But how does the Polk Monitor 70 compare with the BIC Acoustech HT-88. My sub selection that will be HSU STF-2 with Polk or H-100 with the Acoustech, are both good choices (from what I have read). Another question that comes to mind by reading your note. When you say "low end", will these mains with sub give me a better performance than a average HTIB like the Onkyo SR800?
