AnI recently purchased a HSU Hybrid 15 setup and am considering two receivers.

1. Yamaha RX-A2010

2. Pioneer SC-55

They are about the same price just wanted to see if anyone could offer an educated insight asto what might be better. I will probably use it for music mostly.

Thanks
Chris

just an opinion, but I would go with the Yamaha. Very good systems for music, and well built.

No real experience with the Pioneer Elite series, their consumer series are OK, the 1121 is really outstanding, I just got one during the fabulous Newegg sale. But all in all, I like the built-in quality of the Yamaha's I have owned. Sorry there are no really hard facts here, one way or another.....just a subjective opinion.

Thank you Vanmeter, I did end up with the yamaha. After playing with the two receivers I liked the yamaha better plus it has a couple of option that I liked better. I like the fact that it does not have a set crossover point like the pioneer. It also has the ability to adjust the distance of your speakers and has 9.2 vs 9.1 on the pioneer.

I'm still getting my setup put together but I'm happy I went with the Yamaha, it was on sell too!
