As for the amp a 2 channel will be fine to run the subs if it has a low pass filter on it most car audio shops will be able to help you out if you go in and say you need a 2 channel amp, with a low pass filter and a wireing kit

I like good sound in my vehicles, not wasted money on overkill. A good sub and a good pair of components up front and done. I've built several subs for friends and all were interested in stealth more then bling. Mid bass reinforced and clear highs...

Unless you only paid $20 for that thing I'd say return it if you can. That plexiglass panel is missing tons of screws so the seal on it can't be very good.

Save your money and get something decent.

First off, why not ask your friend who can hook all this up for his suggestions? He might be more attuned to your financial abilities and have local sources.

Second, it's "subWOOFer", not "subWOFFer"
