Am currently deciding to go with the:
Maverick Audio A1 Maverick Audio - TubeMagic A1 Hybrid Integrated Amplifier

after deciding between the FiiO A1, Nuforce Icon Amp, Dayton DTA 100a, and a used Marantz pm-av65.

Just want to check with you experts last minute to see if you all support my decision.

Few reasons I am going with Mav A1
-small and fits nicely on desk + the style/colour matches keyboard, headphones, digital photoframe, speakers.
-great integrated headphone amp
-tubes can be changed down the roll for different sound signature
-most used amps/ receivers on kijiji/craigslist/canuckaudiomart that are affordable are too bulky and large and I figure I might as well go with something new that appeals to me
-the mav a1, despite its 20 watts per channel (into 8 ohms), apparently is more than enough for near field listening

Comments, thoughts, suggestions, etc?

Ps. should i get the upgraded version ($40 more) that has Raytheon 6AK5 tubes vs the standard NOS 6J1 tube?

I'm not gonna lie, I don't really understand wanting a sound signature from an amp. It's essentially introducing one more degree of error to the signal chain.

Personally I would go for an ordinary amp that lets you hear the speakers as they were intended to be heard.

Thanks for that. I am not so technical with all this as I am very new to all this. I think I'm still going to go with the Mav A1s but still want to hear more opinions~
