I was wondering if you guys knew if there were any newer firmware updates than what I already have installed on my receiver. I currently have an Onkyo 805 with the firmware version 1.04/07614A. That was the version that was preinstalled on my receiver but I just wanted to know if there were any latest formats available. I went to the onkyo website and only found firmware updates for the 705.
The reason why I ask is because all other onkyo 805 receivers I have played around with in stores had many more THX listening formats like THX Music. When I scroll through my listening formats, the only available format I have in THX is only THX Cinema (PLIIx and dts Neo:6) and THX Games (PLII x and dts Neo:6).
What am I doing wrong or is it just a firmware update? My source is an optical output from my computer motherboard. My computer came with an audio driver that allows me to enable or disable Dolby Digital Live so I can constantly get Dolby Digital or DTS formats whenever I choose. When I have Dolby Digital Live enabled, I get a couple more formats like THX Surr EX, Ultra2 Cinema and Music Mode but still no THX Music.
