Ok, so I'm finishing my basesment and among the many items I have to plan for is an audio system. I'm envisioning ceiling speakers throughout the entire downstairs on a 2-zone set-up. One zone for the primary area, the 2nd zone for the workout room. The main room is rectangular in shape so I'll be doing a wall-mounted flat screen on a swivel system of some sort to save space. I'm also planning on building a shelve into one of the walls next to the TV to mount all my audio equipment with the idea of keeping all the floor space free, again, cause it's a narrow space. Underneath the shelf for the audio components I plan to build a space into the wall as well on the floor to house the subwoofer for the room.
The basement will have a rectangular , roughly 400 sq ft. main room with the game plan to have a pool table at one end, a bar/sofaTV area in the middle, and poker table on the other end. There will also be a workout room, roughly 14/14 feet, and a bathroom.
Hoping for advise as to what ceiling mountable speakers to buy. Also advise on weather I should house my sub in the wall Idea mentioned above or if that's a bad idea, not sure if the shaking of it will loosen nails within the wall or the rest of the house? Also, any advise or forums/reads on this type of set-up, do's and dont's, where to buy speakers, whether to put up seperated audio volume controls in each of the room areas.
Newbie here to doing this type of room set-up. I have a 5.1 stereo system set-up in my living room upstairs so not a total newbie to home stereo set-up, but what I'm looking to do is quite different and I want to plan ahead before the drywall is put-up so I can put this all together as seamless as possibe without shopping out the project.
Thanks in advance!
