Finally! Smooth, deep bass after connecting fronts to sub...

I went ahead and tried experimenting with connecting my front stereo main speakers to the subs L and R outputs and connected my receiver stereo main outputs to the subs L and R inputs. Then I changed the front mains from small to large and selected NO for subwoofer. The results were AWESOME! The bass is now so much deeper and smoother than ever before. I'm using a Yamaha receiver that has an LPF of 90Hz so this is why I've tried experimenting.

I have a few questions though...

1. Now that I've bypassed my receiver's LPF for the front mains, all I have to do is adjust the crossover on my sub from now on?

2. I still have my sub line output from the receiver connected to the sub line input to help take care of the bass (90Hz and below b/c of the LPF) for the center and rear speakers. Is this okay?

3. On my Yamaha receiver, for the subwoofer do I select BOTH, MAIN, SUBWOOFER? I would imagine not BOTH because the center and rears can't handle the bass info below 55Hz. But if I select MAIN then I'll only be getting bass info from speakers set to LARGE, which would be the front mains only. What if I select SUBWOOFER? I tried them both and they seem to sound the same. ?????

I currently have the crossover set at 80 on the sub at a good volume and it's sounding great but if there's any tweaking that needs to be done I sure could use some advice. Thanks!
