Heelooo everyone. Long time reader, first time writer, but I'm a big fan.
I read in these forums not too long ago that Denon is replacing the remote previously bundled with their 3805 receiver with a new one that's easier to see in bright light. Evidently, the face of the old one appears black when it's off; the new one is blue.
Two questions: Is there any way of telling (via manufacture date or a code) whether the receiver has the new remote or the old one? I'm planning on purchasing the receiver tomorrow, and maybe I could look at the box. Second, is Denon doing a swap with the older remotes? If my dealer was being truthful, he has 3 units in stock, so even if there IS a way of telling whether these boxes have the older or newer remote, there might not be a choice with what they have anyway! Although there's a bit of a PIA factor involved, it would still be nice to have the option to exchange the remote.
I don't mean to be anal about the whole thing, but if Denon is making changes within such a short period of time since the model's introduction, I assume it's for a good reason and I'd rather get the updated unit!
Thanx in advance for any info that can be offered!
