Thank you very much for your $5K system recommendation. I bought a 5.1 version of your recommended Axiom speakers and Rocket subwoofer. These were the first speakers that I've bought since buying a pair of Ohm C2s almost 30 years ago.
I was looking for a new set of speakers that would move me into home theater, and still provide good music. My decision to purchase was based on budget, audio niche--low-end high-end--, and WAF--that is, smaller book shelf speakers paired with a subwoofer. (I even purchased a custom finish to better match the decor.)
I couldn't be more pleased with the result. Of course, movies are much more fun now with the extended bass and the surrounds, but we are really enjoying the music much more. We are rediscovering our music collection; the sounds in the recordings are so much more distinct.
Both Axiom and AV123 have been a pleasure to work with as well.
