I've had a Paradigm system for about 2 months and have not had any issues at all, however, when I came home from work today there was a horrible sounding buzz from the subwoofer. When it was powered up the noise disappeared and when it was unplugged there was no sound. There was a horrible noise while it was plugged-in, both when the subwoofer audio cable was connected or not.

Suggestions on how to fix this? I had a custom install, with cables buried in the wall and the installer put in a ground loop.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Are you saying there is only a buzz when the unit is in standby and not in use? As soon as the sub is fully powered and operating you say it stops, even if there is no or very low level program? If that is so, you have a strange fault in the auto on circuit. This is not a ground loop as as it is present with the audio cable disconnected. If what you are saying is as I have outlined, then your sub needs professional service.

Thanks,
As TLS said, you cannot have a ground loop when you have nothing but one component plugged in. A loop requires multiple components in a loop of some kind:D

TLS - you described my problem correctly, I will talk to the retailer and see what they can do.
