Faroudja dvd-100 player ???

Anyone heard of these? They listed in 2002 for $5,350. I can get a very pristine one for $400. I have not heard of this unit but the Faroudja technology is in almost every player.......any thoughts from anyone would be helpful...

Are you asking about the Faroudja DV1000? I can't find any info on a Faroudja DVD-100.

If it is the 1000, there is one listed on ebay for $2,200!

As far as performance, I don't know how it would compare to a "modern" upscaling dvd player.

Personally, I would think that Faroudja chip is way outdated and probably outperformed by modern entry to mid-level chips. Seven years as an eternity for electronics.

I am not so sure bout that. I have been researching all day and these things are supposed to be th "Best" cd players ever. I am sure that the advances in audio may have made this close to being a dinosaur but I have talked him down to $300 and the cheapest I could find on any site"ebay, audiogon, Audiokarma" was $2350. I may just get it and then ebay it......

One thing that has going for it...you can have it now. That Oppo still isn't out, right? However, it'll play more formats. Hmmm. I understand your struggle.

Yeah, undercut the other guy by a large margin and sell it quick. Make your buck then by the Oppo, new receiver, subwoofers, etc...

My field of expertise is Computers and Chips. I suggest you get the Oppo 6 years is a hugely long time for computers and chips.

Faroudja is outdated as Pzaur said, and was never perfect. Depending on the player, there could still a number of issues with video playback. It was the best deinterlacer at the time, but that doesn't mean they are better than current players.
