"Fake"-Biamping Question!

Ok here is my new setup in my new place. I have dropped down from 6.2 to 5.2. The reason being that until i find or make swinging hinges for my surround back channels i am waiting to set them up.
I have set my Denon to bi-amp the front towers. I know that this is not true bi-amping since the power is coming from the one power supply. No i do not hear a difference in sound & i knew that i wouldnt. However what id like to know is this:

Will i be able to turn the volume up a slight bit more & not run as much of a risk of my reciever clipping?

I have done a decent amount of research on clipping. At my listening levels i do not hear distortion or clipping however was just wondering if i would lessen the chance of it happening with this setup. I would like to turn the volume up a bit more than i do now but have always been worried about damage.

Normal high volume is: -10db on master vloume. however most of my speakers sensitivity are 85db. my towers sensitivity are 90db. so though the master volume may seem high to some it is not that loud on my setup.

Thanks!

Any thoughts FirstReflections?

My opinion on bi-amping with a single AVR - its not much more than a gimmick. As you said - you can't hear a difference - and reading these forums and others I've not heard of anyone experiencing audio nirvana when doing so. A few claim to hear a difference - most do not. When you are drawing power from the same power sourcethere is only so much on tap to go around. You may gain a little in 2 channel but its negligible and hardly worth the wire and effort.

True bi-amping involves 2 amps and an active external crossover for maximum gains.

Just MHO of course.

A compentently designed and manufacturered receiver should not output any more power when using the "bi-amp" mode than it would in regular 2 channel mode. If you are running the receiver on bi-amp all it means is that an extra set of transistors are now dedicated to the front speakers. This should reduce the workload of the regular 2 channel set of transistors, perhaps extending their life.

And that is just MHO.:D
