Fading sound in reciever...

Hi,

I noticed in my reciever that one audio channel seems to be producing more sound than the other. Often times when fidling with the volume dial the stronger side switches from right to left, and vice versa. I was wondering is there anything I can do to correct this problem. I've made sure all wire connections to the speaker were correct, and did the best with my AV cable's to make sure they are connected correctly, and not crossing any wires.

Receiver setup

Try to run through the speaker setup and verify that the distance and volume level settings for each channel are correct. When cycling through the test tones, you should get the same volume level from each channel when properly adjusted. When configured properly, the 5.1 channel sound effects should be more convincing.

Not sure what receiver you have or the age, but I just realized that my rear left surround is producing sound 8db lower and my front left speaker is 4 db lower than all the rest of the channels. Unfortunately, my receiver is old and doesn't have the feature set to change each channel individually. Looks like I have to put the sub purchase aside and look into a reciever sooner than later. ;(

I'm thinking I might be experiencing this problem as well. I'll be looking into buying another reciever soon.
