Just looking at a Marantz receiver for sale from accessories4less... says the item is "Factory Certified" and carries a 1 year warranty. I assume this is a refurb of some sort... any reason to avoid this in deference to new stock?

I purchased a DV4600 from them some time ago. Unit arrived and looked good as new and performed as such. My experience with them and their product was definitely on the up and up.

They are a very reputable company. They are located in the Orlando, Florida area. I have bought quite a few things from them.

I know nothing of the company you are talking about but i have bought quite a few refurbished items over the years & ive had nothing but rotten luck with everything i bought.

Ive not bought the exact model your thinking about so i cant say how it will perform but i have bought refurbished stereo equipment,tv's,power tools, video game counsels ect & all seemed to start giving me trouble either just before the warrenty period ran out or shortly after it experied but in every case all the refurbished stuff lasted nowhere near as long as it should have.

My experience with refurb gear is that for the savings your just buying somebody elses headache.

I bought a refurb Marantz CD4300 CD changer from 'em a year ago and it arrived quickly, looked brand spanking new and works like a charm.

But, I saved the box and receipt just in case I needed to take them up on their guarantee. I didn't.

I'd buy from them again. I can't say that about other companies, though.
