I always feel like...someone is watching me... (from that eighty's song by ?)

That is pretty, however (not to spoil the cool photo) I was under the impression that color is not easily photographed in space and that just about all of the photos you see are SIGNIFICANTLY colored before they get to the public. Makes them neater and more exciting to look at.

Not that this is an authoritative source, but it at least explains it:

Get lost.

If I wanted facts, I'll go to AA. Leave us alone with our pretty color pictures.. ;)

Cheers, John

I bet if you upgraded the power cord, you'd get more color.

I always thought the eye of the all knowing all seeing God would be more complicated than the simple mammalian eye.

Oh well, what do I know.

Also remember that the Hubble was built as "low bid" by a government contractor and it didn't work when they first put it up. NASA had to make a house call to fix it.

Next time NASA needs to let the Japanese build our camera :)

Clint,

You are definitely correct about the "not so easy" part of astrophotography with film. You need quality optics and patience. You will spend hours during the night either freezing your @ss off or getting eaten alive while making sure your telescopes mount is tracking properly. With the advent of the CCD chip and camera's film is becoming a thing of the past for astrophotographers. The CCD cameras cut the shutter time WAY down and then can be manipulated on a computer. I have seen many outstanding colored photographs (film) of deep space wonders. I just don't have the patience to do it myself. I just observe.
