That is pretty, however (not to spoil the cool photo) I was under the impression that color is not easily photographed in space and that just about all of the photos you see are SIGNIFICANTLY colored before they get to the public. Makes them neater and more exciting to look at.

You are definitely correct about the "not so easy" part of astrophotography with film. You need quality optics and patience. You will spend hours during the night either freezing your @ss off or getting eaten alive while making sure your telescopes mount is tracking properly. With the advent of the CCD chip and camera's film is becoming a thing of the past for astrophotographers. The CCD cameras cut the shutter time WAY down and then can be manipulated on a computer. I have seen many outstanding colored photographs (film) of deep space wonders. I just don't have the patience to do it myself. I just observe.
