External vs internal DAC question

Yes it does indeed export wired and wireless digital. It's DAC however does not output analog as older iPhones and iPads did. For me here's the rub: I have my music library in iTunes on my iPhone so I can enjoy music on the road. Now, my car has a radio which has a mini phono plug input so to play iTunes from the iPhone I need to send digital out to an external DAC which then sends analog to the radio's mini phono input.

That's not quite the same thing since you're now talking about analog output, when the issue stated was digital output. The dac wouldn't be utilized except when outputting analog. That's kinda crazy there's no analog output but apple products hold little interest for me, especially iTunes which I've used and discarded. You could get a bluetooth adapter for your car's head unit if you want to go wireless somewhat in the car....
